The Boat - Pink Lady®

Pink Lady tied up

There is no doubt whatsoever that the Pink Lady® crew is experienced enough and fit enough to take on the rigours of an Atlantic Ocean crossing, but in many ways it is the boat itself that is the key to beating the existing world record.

At 10 metres long and only 1.9 metres wide, the Pink Lady® is built for speed, not comfort. Her hull is composed of carbon fibre, a material more commonly found in the aerospace and motor racing industries, and her radically streamlined hull means that as little of the boat as possible comes into contact with the water.

The result is a sleek-looking, aerodynamic vessel that is virtually frictionless as it slices through the water. Ultimately, it is has been designed and built to be much faster than traditional craft. More>>
