An oarsome feat

Brianna Stubbs on Pink Lady

Brianna Stubbs, daughter of Pink Lady skipper, Mark Stubbs, became the youngest person to row the English Channel when she joined her father and his team mates on their training row to Cherbourg in preparation for Pink Lady Atlantic First.

Brianna rowed her way into the record books by completing the 72 mile voyage from Poole in Dorset to Cherbourg in 23hrs 48mins.

Not able to eat during the voyage due to sea sickness and taking it in turns to sleep only 90mins at a time, Brianna was obviously very tired but exhilarated to have completed her challenge and couldn't wait to go to school and tell her friends what she had done over the weekend.

Just as remarkable, Brianna had exams to sit when she returned to her school, Parkstone Grammer, after her record rowing weekend. Her rowing experience prior to her record breaking weekend was limited to twice a week on the River Stour in Dorset.

Her father Mark is obviously very proud of Brianna, and thought 'she did brilliantly'.
